Kim Hin has about 20 years history. Recently, new chef has joined in as the 70 years old chef decided to retire. It is still crowded at night, especially on the weekend.

Five stars! Highly recommend the abalone sauce tofu! It's unlike anything I've ever had! The salted egg shrimp is incredibly fresh! The combination of preserved mustard greens and kale is perfect! The pork belly is amazing!

My all time favourite Chu Char place in Penang, today we had ordered 3 simple dishes, Belachan Fried Chicken, Steel plate Taufu and also a Teow Chew Style Fish Sliced. Don't forget to order their Kopi Peng also very Kaw Kaw one.

A neighbourhood chu char but it's always crowded. Their arrangements are very systematic. They will give u a number when u reach & directly take your order. Then wait in queue for your table.

I gave up on the idea on Mother's Day because of the long queues. I went again on Father's Day, and there were long queues again! The third time was June 22nd, which happened to be my birthday, so I took my family.

2026 MARCH - LITERAL Old school choo char. Dishes are spot on. MUST TRY - CHARCOAL TOFU. DIRT CHEAP - Below RM 100 for 4 dishes, rice and 5 drinks. Be prepared for plenty of mosquitoes attacking your legs.

The food was delicious, even the simple Malay stir-fry was cooked perfectly! The prices were cheap, the seafood was very fresh, and the owners were a very nice and friendly family. It's cooler to sit in the back!

The food's awesome, and the price is a steal. You gotta try the black tofu. The service is a bit slow, but it's understandable since there are so many people and not enough staff.

Every dish was my favorite, but the braised pork knuckle this time was a bit disappointing. They've also been giving away cash vouchers lately, one RM5 voucher for every RM100 spent.

Food is average, dirty place with a lots of flies. Every table forced to order a drink even food is ordered, and this not being informed when you order the food!
