Just take two right turns when you exit the hotel and you’ll be at Seafood Choo – a hole-in-the-wall seafood place that offers homely meals. Seafood Choo has an impressive 4.7 star rating on Google.

It exudes a homey ambience, almost like private dining in someone's home. Good selection of music. Be prepared to wait for at least 30 mins as each dish is cooked individually.

I was craving crab and found this place on Google. So glad I did! Seafood Choo is a small, super cozy spot. The menu is based on the catch of the day, which is always a good sign for quality.

Accidentally found this little home cook meal style restaurant in Penang and it’s absolutely amazing. They use freshest ingredients for all the dishes. I loved the baked crab and baked prawns. But seriously all the dishes are delicious.

When we arrived, we were seated at the last table. It was a family-run restaurant, and perhaps only the owner and his brother were in the kitchen. We waited for over half an hour before we were served; the service was really slow.

A small shop selling really fresh seafood. The way they cooked is very simple but delicious in a way that it doesn't cover up the original freshness taste of the seafood. The garlic prawn has to be the 🌟 dish.

Booked a table and a couple roe crabs via WhatsApp, the staff was accommodating, esp when I told her the flight was delayed. The roe crabs got time to cook (~30 min), but worth the wait.

The wild crabs sourced from perak is the star attraction. Fresh and tastes great with chunky succulent meat. The prawns are pretty good too although the fried chicken is just ok. Will return to try the octopus and curry fishead.

Cosy seafood spot in the heart of Georgetown, was recommended here by a YouTuber and was glad the food was on point! 📱 made a reservation earlier in the afternoon via WhatsApp for a table for 4 and managed to get a table, and was able to…

A cosy small seafood restaurant that could accommodate about 6 to 7 groups of people. When we went for dinner on a weekday night, only a few of the menu options were available and the rest had all been sold out.

The seafood here is incredibly fresh, which makes a huge difference in the taste. The highlight for me was definitely the lala soup—it was flavorful and sweet, easily the best dish of the night.

I was in Penang for a few days starting on 30-12-2025 and planned to go. On 1-1-2026, I re-read the last review and it mentioned to book ahead. I called immediately (5:30pm) and asked if there was any availability.

Came here 2 days in a row for dinner, tried half of the dishes and all of them were great! You could tell that each of the dishes was made with great care and attention to detail- everything tasted fresh and made in house.
