Ravi’s clay pot appam is my must go to each time in Penang. Not to be missed. It is located in Swee Kong coffee shop in Jalan Burma amidst other hawker stalls. It has recently been awarded the Michelin guide.

The champion of the char kuey teow competition is inside this coffee shop. Not just this CKT good, the kuey teow thng (soup noodles), prawn mee (hokkien mee), nyonya kueh, are equally good.

What a buzzing place! Had the champion char kway tiaw here and it was very nice: good flavor, smoky and it comes with big prawns. One of the nicest teh tarik we’ve had here, too.

This is a kopitiam with heritage, where it's decor and seating still reflects the decades of trading that it has gone through. Seating is very tight and very crowded especially during breakfast.

Drink go up 50c, I think for cny lo, don't won,t expect price go down after cny. But still ok la compare to Starbuck, the kopi can easily addicted. Hokkien mee n apom a must, one of top in Penang.

The BEST food center we visited in Penang! ❤️ the char kway teow was so flavorbomb with strong charcoal taste. The hokkien mee was packed with flavors. And the apom was freshly made, very slim layer but the flavor was super nice.

Used to come here as a child 30+ years ago. The Mee goreng even though different person but is recommended. Didn't get to try the Hokkien Mee though. The apom was not bad but have tasted better. The worst I guess was the CKT.

solid — strong wok hei char kuey teow. prawns also look fresh and nicely seared, not overcooked. The lap cheong (Chinese sausage) gives it that sweet smoky flavor too.
