While most fishball stalls use regular fish or flour-heavy balls, Pitt Street Koay Teow Soup in Penang uses local eel meat to make theirs. It is a traditional Teochew method that is slowly becoming a lost art, because of the sheer effort…

Pitt Street Koay Teow Th’ng : this was a big surprise for me. While the dish looks rather bland, it is packed with flavour! While the taste is not too much on the nose, it is refined and delicate.

One of my favorite places that offers a good bowl of kuih teow soup was the stall at by Armenian and Pitt Street, and in fact I’ve written about the place more than 6 years ago in this entry , which is due for an update anyway.

One of the popular eateries along Carnarvon Street (Lebuh Carnarvon) is Pitt Street Koay Teow Th'ng (椰脚粿条汤). As the name implies, the signature dish at this shop is the koay teow soup (粿条汤).

Food was ok, but confirm per reliable Source… from sugar. Service… rude! Atmosphere… pasar… An old couple, wife cut cue, ok la… 50+ years old…and witnessing it the owner continue to entertain… so i better not make a scene…

My first experience was flawed…it was just a very ordinary kway teow soup. We ordered one bowl of soup and one bowl of dry kway teow. The dry kway teow was a bit too dry. I personally thought the fish balls were delicious.

Had a satisfying visit to Pitt Street Koay Teow Soup. The koay teow soup and fish ball soup were genuinely delicious—flavorful, comforting, and the kind of dishes you find yourself craving again (I went twice in a week, which says a lot).

Came here not by choice as my favourite place was closed today. A very different experience. A bit frantic with a lot of shouting so not a relaxing place to come to if u are noise sensitive. The basic KTT for rm7.

Personally, I think the highlight is the fish balls. However, the fish balls are quite crumbly and still have a fishy smell. The broth is mild in flavor.

They have been honoured for the Michelin guide continuously for few years already. They're crowded most of the time but arrangements are all very proper. Serving time is also very fast.

This is a go to everytime I am in Penang. The owners take great pride in their food and you can taste it in the meat balls and squid/fish balls. The soup rice noodles comes with freshly fried garlic and crispy pork lard.

One of our very first meals in Penang - the char kway soup was delicious, but we fell in love with the coconut coffee they serve here! The milo dinosaur was also fantastic. Absolutely recommend the drinks.

It's a bit challenging to find parking as it's at Georgetown. The meat and eel fish balls taste really good and chewy, the soup is does not have thick taste but it's okay for me.

Boss, actually, many people order water as soon as they sit down. Food and other things don't matter, the most important thing is to bring water first. Many people are not just thirsty, they are also very hot.
